The new wing of the Poznań Academy was built between 1995 and 1997, designed by Jerzy Gurawski. It echoes the adjacent, historic Johannes of Charlottenburg building from the early 20th century. In 2006, the complex was expanded to include the Aula Nova concert hall, a modern rotunda also designed by Gurawski. The Academy’s expansion project received the Jan Baptista Quadro Award, the 2006 Construction of the Year Award, and was named the Best Building of the Decade in a Gazeta Wyborcza poll.
