Image 2 of 4

This postmodern building was created through the adaptation and reconstruction of a former tram depot in the Wrzeszcz district of Gdańsk. Designed by the now-defunct Diogenes Studio, headed by Maria Krystyna Sikorska, the project, carried out by the City of Gdańsk in 2001-2002, cost nearly 7 million złoty. The result is a space with a cinema, café, theatre, and a glass-enclosed passage with a mezzanine that serves as a gallery. The building houses the municipal cultural center “Klub Żak,” which continues the traditions of the ŻAK Coastal Students’ Club, which operated from 1955 to 1991. Address: ul. Grunwaldzka 195/197, Gdańsk.
