The church was built between 1987 and 1992, designed by Gdańsk architect Jerzy Fokt. It was designed on a Greek cross plan. Its shape resembles a ship’s hull, and its style has been described as “postmodernizing.” The first parish priest, established in 1982, and the builder of the church was Canon Zbigniew Walczak.
