The temple was built between 1984 and 1993 (consecrated in November 1993) according to a design by Mieczysław Król, author of Katowice’s icons of modernism – Superjednostka, the Zenit department store and the now defunct Wedding Palace in Katowice. It is the last large-scale project completed by the designer, who died in 2013, and the only one in which he drew to some extent on solutions characteristic of the postmodernist style. The church is part of a parish complex built at the same time, which also includes a catechetical centre and a rectory. Address: 62 Piłsudskiego Street, Jastrzębie-Zdrój.
