A block of flats in Cieplice, the spa district of Jelenia Góra. A frequent guest on various lists of the ugliest and strangest buildings in Poland, locally referred to as ‘Mister Jelenia Góra’. Commissioned in 1986. The first block of flats in Jelenia Góra built using monolithic technology (using concrete or reinforced concrete elements created on site with the help of formwork). Financed by the Military Administration for the families of former officers of the Polish People’s Army, it was taken over by the ‘Wolności 299’ housing community in 2000. It is characterised by an unusual cascading structure – from 5 storeys on the eastern side to as many as 11 on the western side. Address: ul. Wolności 299, Jelenia Góra.
