Kraków, Jagiellonian University Guest House in Przegorzały
2026-02-04
The Jagiellonian University’s Polish Diaspora College, later the Jagiellonian University Guest House in Przegorzały, is now the Forest Hotel, run by the Krakow-based family business ZR Hotele. The complex was built between 1976 and 1991, designed by a team led by Krakow architect Tomasz Mańkowski, whose members included Dariusz Kozłowski (later one of the most renowned Polish postmodernists). Considered one of the few examples of Brutalist architecture in Krakow, it is sometimes described as late modernist, or even postmodernist, due to its unique shape and the “monastic” character of the entire complex. In 2022, the building underwent a major renovation and serves as a four-star hotel in the ZR Hotele chain. Address: Jodłowa 13, Krakow.
