2026-02-04
A complex of three office buildings, with the tallest, Unity Tower (102 meters), built on the site of the unfinished NOT office building, popularly known as the Skeletor. Construction work on this site began in 1975 and was halted four years later. The planned skyscraper was designed by Zdzisław Arct’s team. The unfinished structure rusted in the center of Krakow for four decades. In March 2016, construction was resumed by Treimorfa Project, which, in addition to the majority foreign developer, also included the Krakow-based GD&K Group. The design of the new complex, called Unity Center, was prepared by DDJM. The total area of the buildings in the entire complex is 88,000 square meters. Unity Tower is the tallest building in Krakow, up to the roofline (102 meters), while the record for total height (including spires) is held by the K1 (Błękitek) office building, which stands at 105 meters. Construction of the skyscraper, begun in 1975 and finally completed 45 years later (2020), was the longest single-building project in Poland since World War II.
