Designed for three families, this 540m² house was built in 2002 on Kasztanowa Street in the Wola Justowska district of Krakow. In 2004, it received the Main Award of the Association of Polish Architects for “courage, discipline, and uncompromising attitude.” Designed by Agnieszka Szultk and Piotr Nawara at nsMoonStudio, it was included in the prestigious “Poland: Icons of Architecture” list of the 20 best buildings built in Poland after 1989 (Architektura-Murator). This Krakow house, whose roof and entire façades are covered with uniform shingles, is considered an exceptional example of the successful combination of modern design and traditional, regional materials.
