The building of the Lodz University of Technology, constructed in the 1960s as the so-called Technology Hall on the site of the former Schweikert Factory, was rebuilt in the postmodernist style in 2006–2008 according to a design by a team led by Danuta Włodarska (ARTE). As a result of the modernisation, the building received a brick façade, a trapezoidal bay window, a protruding portal, reflective glazing characteristic of Polish postmodernism in the upper part of the façade, and eight tall conical skylights on the roof.
