One of the tallest residential buildings in Poznań, this 20-story, 61-meter-high skyscraper is an architectural landmark of the Rataje district. Built between 1996 and 2005, it features an elliptical plan and 210 apartments. It was designed by a team consisting of Krzysztof Frąckowiak, Aleksandra Kornecka, Stanisław Mikołajczak, and Katarzyna Weiss. After the developer’s bankruptcy, it was completed by the “Chartowo Investors Association”—the building’s current residents. Two years before the building’s completion, rumors circulated about the skyscraper’s significant vertical deviation—up to 40 cm—that threatened its collapse. The matter was investigated by the building inspectorate, but the information proved false—the actual deviation was 1.5 cm, four times less than the permissible limit.
