The building was built between 2010 and 2013 on the site of a glass shopping arcade from the early 1990s, according to the architectural concept of the ADS studio. In 2008, the team, previously awarded for projects including the Stary Browar (Old Brewery) in Poznań, won a competition for the design of a new shopping mall organized by the Association of Polish Architects (SARP). However, for likely financial reasons, the project was not implemented, and the current building was based on a different concept, albeit by the same studio. The disregard for the competition results and the style of the broken facades, which evoke the deconstruction trend fashionable in the late 20th century, were met with criticism from some residents and the architectural community. The project was nominated for the 2012 Makabryła award and took third place. The bold style of the building’s facade, consistently present in its interiors, also has its supporters. Praise is given to its “bold vision” and the building’s “well-integrated” into the surrounding 19th-century architecture. The gallery has 9 floors, including 4 underground (the deepest building in Poznań). Address: Święty Marcin Street 24, Poznań.
