The Ursynów housing estate in the Kabaty district, also known as the SM Przy SGGW Housing Estate, was built between 1998 and 2000, designed by Sołtyk & Sołtyk Architekci. It consists of three buildings – the first one, a long block along Przy Bażantarni Street (no. 13), and two buildings on the corner of Przy Bażantarni Street and the avenue of Komisji Edukacji Narodowej (no. 11). Aleksandra Stępień-Dąbrowska, author of “Jakby Luxowo. A Guide to the Architecture of Warsaw in the 1990s,” called the estate “one of the most remarkable postmodernist projects of the decade.” The Warsaw weekly “Pasmo” awarded the complex the Golden Crane Award for 1999–2000.
